Hello Farmfare friends!

I want to personally thank you for your support of our weekly dinners. Each purchase, each sweet comment, each like or share on social media feels like a big hug. As a small business owner, you have provided the kind of encouragement that makes me excited to work every day.

I have loved the stories of kids trying new vegetables, families enjoying meals together, and couples having a great mid-week dinner together. (It’s hard to cook for two!) You each have been so patient and kind with my kids and their friends who love being part of the Wednesday night pickups. It has truly been a rewarding experience.

We started the “What the ‘F’ Dinners” in the hope we could cater less, and thusly, have more time for family. Whelp, it didn’t quite shake out that way. We’ve been doing just as many or more catering events, and trying to do these dinners, too. I’m sure that you have felt our strain some weeks trying to pull it all off.

In all honesty, because we have been so busy catering, we haven’t had the time necessary to grow our weekly dinner part of the business. Week after week, we are just breaking even. Plus our order numbers aren’t growing, therefore we've determined it’s not a sustainable model for our small business.

Trying new things and seeing what “sticks” is part of business growth. I really wish this was a “sticker,” but I am extremely sad to say that we will no longer be doing the dinners. At least, not in their current form.

Saturday we wrapped up our autumn wedding season. During December, we’ll be slammed with holiday parties. If you don’t follow us on Facebook or Instagram ( _farmfare), please do. We’ll use those social media platforms to keep you updated on what Farmfare will be up to in the new year. (Yes, there are new plans in the works, and we’re exited for this new chapter for this business.)

This was a difficult email to share because I’m going to miss seeing everyone on Wednesdays! Since so much of our catering business is in Kansas City, doing these dinners has given us a real opportunity to get plugged into this amazingly supportive local community, and we are going to miss that.

Thank you again for your support and encouragement. It has been a true pleasure to cook for you.

Best,

Katie
